I made this thread so you can put all the weird things u notice about friends..like for example in TOW Joey Dates Rachel...
...when joeys on the date with rachel and she gets up to go to the weshroom she goes to the left and then..when he has the date with the other girl she goes to the washrrom but on the right...! so ya...hopefully theres many interesting ones!:01: :01:

Since I have watched my share of episodes, quite a number of times, I have come to notice a few errors. This is the main ones:

1. Kate Miller is Joeys huge theater-crush, where she ends up leaving for a soap opera. Kate Miller is then the name of the name-tag Rachel pick up i the last episode of season 8.

2. Susan Sarandon is first placed on Ross' list of celebrities he can sleep with. But later she PLAYS a guestrole!! As someone else than herself, more specific Joeys co-star in Days Of Our Lives

3. Gunther wants to know Rachels birthday, and when she wonders why, he says he's just making a list over peoples birthdays. Then ross say "Mine is Decemb.." A few seasons later, he says October 18 when Joey have to write for him on some forms he have to fill out when he broke his thumb.

Hmmm thats a good one too. I've noticed little things like that. Like in Season 1 To The Candy Hearts Phoebe talks about her friend who shaves her head she calls her a different name which i don't remember. Then in To At the Beach her friend who shaves head is called Bonnie.

in TOW where rachel has a baby part 1&2 in one scene, when someone opens the door from here room there's a waiting room behind it..and then in another scene there's a wall behind it!

Well, sure there are lots of bloopers and mistakes, but the one you mention are not so bad. Besides, Kate Miller is not a rare name, I think. The only mistake that sometimes bugs me is that they keep changing the characters' age

I was watching TOW The Birthing Video yesterday and there was a scene when Chandler was holding the tape and like, being him, and Monica comes out and he puts down the tape, they started talking about it and then he said, Beautiful? Really? Oh, you think this is beautiful?!, And turns on the TV which is the video but he had never put the tape back in.

That's because one ended the season and the 3rd second one started the 4th. There were quite a few months in between filming those. Plus, Matthew had gone to rehab during that summer..

Everyone changes, and she just had a change in heart. I don't think it's like the others where they're just careless mistakes; this is just one of the things that lets us know how much the characters have changed.

heres one, it's not really a blooper or anything..just interesting.
in one of the earlier episodes(2nd season?) when Ross and Rachel are first together and Ross has their whole lives planned out together he says that he is going to name their daughter Emily. There are two things here, one: They never named their daughter Emily, and two: later on, Ross marries and Emily.

Also when phoebe goes to visit her dad and the dog jumps up you can see the top of a guys head, probabily holding the dog up.

One that I noticed, Is that in TOW old yeller (think thats the one..) Phoebe said something along the lines of how her mom didn't want them to see all the sadness, etc. So she wouldn't show them the ends of sad movies.. BUT , later on.. in season 7 i think , She brings out the christmas skull and said her Mom used to put it out to remind them that even though its christmas , people still die. It just doesn't go together :p

Mainly, Rachel says she is stopping by Ross's apartment at 8.30 (am, I assume, because she is on her way to work), and then when Phoebe calls in work to say that she won't be in, she says its 9.15 (am, we assume again, because what kind of massage parlour is open at 9.15pm?) Now, also assuming that it is the same day, because Monica and Phoebe were in the bedroom waxing, this means that Ross went from his apartment, to the Chandler and Joey's (which involved a long conversation), to the copy place, to the massage parlour, to the coffee house and back to Monica and Rachel's in less than 45 minutes (because they have been in the room a while before Phoebe makes the call).

Phoebe's mum is one of life's great mysteries. As Phoebe said herself, she didn't want them to know about sad endings to movies, but killed herself and married a criminal (hey, did we ever find out what the step-father did to get put in jail?)

Hey, I do actually think it was 9.15pm. Remember after that this plays while the four of them are in Monica's room:

So I guess it would make much more sense that the quarrel starts in the evening... Makes sense?

I think I may have found another one. I don't know that his is as much of a flub as it is confusion (on my part). When Ross got married, didn't he give Emily his grandmother's ring? Cause it was basically the plot of TOW the bachelor party. Then, in season 8, his mom gave it to him again to propose to Rachel with. Did Emily give it back to Ross then gave it back to his mom?

What really drives me crazy is how different they look in the end of one season and then, in the begining of the other one, even if there's a link between the episodes, they look totally different. The worst mistake is in the end of 6 season
TOW the proposal. Chandler is kinda fat, Rach has a huge hair, Monica has a long hair.. and then, in the begining of 7º season, which is supposedly to be the same night of the last season episode, they are wearing the same clothes but, Chandler somehow is a way thinner, Rach has no longer the big hair, and Monica's hair is shorter and has a fringe!!!!!! That really bugs me...If there's a link between the episodes, even if the seasons are differents, they should shoot it at the same time...otherwise it looks silly!!!

No, he was in the hospital for pancreitis or however you spell it. He went back to rehab at the very end of the 7th season and everybody was worried if he was going to come back, if at all, in time to finish the season.

Anita auditioned for one of the 3 female leads in the show, but didn't get the part. The producers did offer her ther recurring character of Carol. However, after one episode as Carol, she decided she was looking for a more full-time role, so she went on to look for other opportunities.

In The One With Two Parts, it shows a shot of the restaurant Ursula works at. In Season 4 somewhere, it shows Monica working at Alesandro's, and they use the same restaurant shot.

the apartments have changed since the first seasons :
- the bathrooms in both apartments have different positions in the different episodes where you can see them,
- the number of the apartments have changed,
- so has the background with the building through Monica's window and the wooden beam (is that the right word?) disappears in the 2nd or 3rd season,
- Rachel meets Chandler for the 1st time in the pilot AND in TOW all the Thanksgivings
- The age and birthdays of the characters are not really clear, Rachel's is in the end of the 2nd season and right in the middle of the 7th and 9th season (by the way sh's the one who has the more birthday parties)
- in TOW the Proposal, when Chandler talks to Monica about the marriage websites, her hair is changing all the time.
- in the pilot, the only movies that Joey seems to have done, are 'erotic' ones that everybody seems to have seen but in the episode at the biginning of the 2nd season when they spend the night at Ross' place they brought his 'erotic' movie and they seem to watch it for the 1st time.

* Ross has three birthdays. In episode 104 he says his birthday was seven months ago, which would make that in April or late March. In episode 205 they celebrate his birthday in October. In 405, he tells Gunther he's born in December.

* Ross apparently has three birthdays, well Phoebe has two. They celebrate her birthday in TOW Two Parts part2 and she tells her brother Frank in TOW Frank Jr that her birthday's February 16th. That makes sense, since the two-part episode aired around the 16th. Now, get this, Rachel and Phoebe met the first time in TOW Monica Gets a new Roommate. Seven episodes later, TOW Nana Dies Twice, Rachel claims Chandler talked to her breasts at Phoebe's birthday party. This was somewhere in October or November. Either Rachel doesn't know what she's talking about or Phoebe has got two birthdays.

* The guys' bathroom is constantly being remodelled. In TOW the Boobies, I think the shower was opposite the door. In another episode (don't know which) the toilet was opposite the door. Then the bathtub moved there in TOW the Chick and the Duck, or possibly sooner. But the toilet keeps switching places. In TOW all the Kissing, it's to the right of the door, but in TOW all the Kips it's to the right.

* The Central Perk logo is not mirror imaged on either side, it's the "correct" side both from the inside and the outside. A real window wouldn't be able to have that kind of logo.

* As one of the bloopers already say, Jack told Richard in "TOW Joey Moves Out" that he got the Porsche when he was 50. In "TOW all the Rugby" Ross says "I haven't done that since I was four and I washed my dad's Porsche with rocks". Either Jack Geller is over 80 years old or the writers have fixated themselves on the idea of him having a Porsche.

* In the beginnig of 304 when Joey enters to central perk, chandler says -Hey Matt, insted of - Hey Joey.

There are LOTS of those! One of my favorite ones is the very very last scen of TOW The Rumor, you see Brad Pitt totally losing it! He's so cute!!!

And then the scene with the bag pipes, Jennifer is laughing hard and covering her mouth. When Frank Jr says "My sister's gonna have my babies", Jennifer laughs really hard too, she totally lost it.

Phoebe laughs when her dad is singing the song he used to make them go to sleep with and it's the same as Smelly cat.

There are TONS of them. I love those moments.

In TOW Pheobe's Dad when they go to visit her dad there is that dog, at one point the dog is half way through the window. If you look on the side window in the back seat you can see the dog trainer's head.

In TOW the Embryo's when the girls lose and Monica is trying to convince Rachel to move she says "Look Rach, we have to move. I mean if they had won, we would’ve made them get rid of the birds. Right?" ....well the guys did win...so she should have said "if they had lost"

In TOW Ross's inappropriate song...Chandler finds a tape with Monica's name in Richards apartment and when he plays it and eventually see's a Richard and a Woman on the tape, then Joey rushes and pulls him down, then Courtney walks in and the Joey pulls her down, if you look, you can see that courtney had knee pads on.

Also, in several other episodes you can is the boom microphone slip into the frame...for example, it happens in TO In Barbados Pt. 2 when Ross and Charlie are running from those guys to the corner

ok, i have noticed two... the first one is chandler and monica saying I love you... they both say it in the episode where everyone finds out about their relationship, u know, when monica walks out of the bathroom and they say it to each other... and then, in the one with all the thanksgivings i think it is, when monica has the turkey on her head, chandler says it to her and they both react as if thats the first time that has been said...

and the other one, takes place in the second to last episode... the one with rachel's going away party... when joey and ross are sittin at the table havin a beer and ross avoids going up to talk to rachel by pretending him and joey are deep in conversation... u might notice that the amount of beer in ross' bottle changes everytime they switch the camera angle... if u can, have a look!

Here is a huge factual error from TOW The Chickenpox

Chickenpox has a 14-21 day incubation period (that's before the spots appear). People are only infectious something like two days before the spots appear until they crust over. Therefore Ryan would have had spots develop at the end of his stay with Phoebe, not whilst he was with Phoebe.

OK I was watching TOW Monica's Thunder last night and theres the part when Rachel & Ross say "It was just one kiss" or something and Phoebe comes out of her room and she's like "YOU GUYS KISSED?" and then Phoebe and R&R talk about it and Monica is in the background looking relaxed. Two mistakes from Season 5.

When Ross moved in into is new flat next to the building where the others live, there's a scene where you can see the other building. (See picture 1 and 2) We all know that in Monica and Racel's flat there's a balcony. Now, there's no balcony on these pics.

The third pic is about Ross' TV that he pretends to watch. If you look carefully, you can see that there's noone on the couch, even the couch is not placed next to the TV! (Picture 0)

Another one, I don't know when.
There was a time when some woman was watching them with a telescope. She didn't only see the girls but also Chandler and Joey's flat which is across the hall, ergo on the other side of the building!

A goof that really bothered me was the joke about Chandler's "claw" in TOW Joey Dates Rachel, but when it's not focusing on his hand, you can see that it's not really held in that position. This goof bugs me the most out of any! Its in TOW Princess Consuela, when Mike comes back and meets Pheobe in Central Perk where she tells him how she's changed her name. The conversation goes back and forth from Pheobe and Mike and each time the camera swiches, Mike's scarf is tied up, then loose around his neck, then tied up again and so forth.
Once u notice it its all i can think about in the scene! lol

I was watching TOW The Morning After Today and there are some definite timing errors. Mainly, Rachel says she is stopping by Ross's apartment at 8.30 (am, I assume, because she is on her way to work), and then when Phoebe calls in work to say that she won't be in, she says its 9.15 (am, we assume again, because what kind of massage parlour is open at 9.15pm?) Now, also assuming that it is the same day, because Monica and Phoebe were in the bedroom waxing, this means that Ross went from his apartment, to the Chandler and Joey's (which involved a long conversation), to the copy place, to the massage parlour, to the coffee house and back to Monica and Rachel's in less than 45 minutes (because they have been in the room a while before Phoebe makes the call).

Did they forget this part because in Season 7 (I think). Where Ross, Monica and Chandler are all dishing the dirt on eachother...you know where Chandler tells Monica about the spacemountain story? And they tell each of their secrets.
Ross says about Chandler sleeping with the girl who cleaned their dorm in college, and Chandler points out that it was Ross, not him.
So did Ross lose his virginity to this woman before Carol? Or is Chandler lying and placing the blame on him?

I saw it without help, but I've seen all the episodes so many times that I now start paying attention to things in the background as well, instead of just the actors.
For instance in one episode Rachel wants to borrow the Porsche but Monica won't let her and then she (Rachel) steals the keys from Ross's coat pocket. The girl who's staring at her in a weird way (provoking Rachel to say "Alimony") you can see as an extra as well in the episode with Monica and Chandler's wedding. She's sitting behind Phoebe and Monica when they're are sitting at the table and talking to Rachel about the pregnancy (the bit where Rachel keeps spitting out the champagne).

Sorry I never know episode titels so I hope I explained the scenes adequately.

What really drives me crazy is how different they look in the end of one season and then, in the begining of the other one, even if there's a link between the episodes, they look totally different. The worst mistake is in the end of 6 season
TOW the proposal. Chandler is kinda fat, Rach has a huge hair, Monica has a long hair.. and then, in the begining of 7º season, which is supposedly to be the same night of the last season episode, they are wearing the same clothes but, Chandler somehow is a way thinner, Rach has no longer the big hair, and Monica's hair is shorter and has a fringe!!!!!! That really bugs me...If there's a link between the episodes, even if the seasons are differents, they should shoot it at the same time...otherwise it looks silly!!!


But its not the actors fault!! they have to have sometime to rest between each series even if they carried on filming into the next series they have to have a break then they would loose weight or have a haircut!! still soo there not that big of a deal the actors have lives!! lol soz

I don't know whether this has been mentioned before, just a minor error in 6.24 TOW The Proposal. In the scene just before the credits:

(Everyone screams and has a group hug.)

I found two both involving the same episode.

In TOW the secret closet (814) Monica won't let Phoebe in at the beginning of the show, and it turns out she's getting a massage from a woman named Alexandra. Phoebe is angry and says, "you NEVER let me massage you", but in TOW Rosita dies (713) Phoebe says something like "It's already February and I've only had two clients and they both were the worst tippers", to which Monica responds; "That was me and Ross". OOPS! Plus Chandler adds insult to injury by saying "If it helps Alexandra has been massaging Monica for only 3 years", so Monica would have been getting massages from both Phoebe and Alexandra in that case. (unless there is 3 years between season 7 and season 8, which I doubt :D )

And also in TOW the secret closet, Joey asks Chandler for a bobby-pin and Chandler says he doesn't have one, but maybe Monica does. Joey responds by saying "sure, Monica" (using quotation signs, saying he doubts they are actually monica's), but in an episode (sorry don't know which one, but I think it's season 10) he says to Ross that he doesn't really know what everybody means when they use quotation signs.
Okay, on that last one he could have lucked out and used them correctly eventhough he doesn't really know how to use them, but I doubt it.

i just found some interesting bloopers on the net (i don't know if these have been posted before):


In 311 - TOW Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister, in the ending sequence, we see Joey and Ross (Chandler is not there) who say they'll go upstairs to kick the guy who Phoebe was dating's ass. But when we see them at the door, getting out, we see Ross and CHANDLER leaving, if you watch closely you'll see, he's wearing different clothes than Joey, he even says "Don't worry!", and it's definitely his voice. Just as if Joey had morphed into him.



In 318 - TOW the Hypnosis Tape, Chandler comes walking through the door and tells Monica and Rachel he forgot the combination years ago to his briefcase and just carries it around. But a couple minutes later he takes out a magazine from the briefcase to show Monica and Rachel who Pete is.



Days of Our Lives is filmed in L.A. and Friends is based in New York City, therefore Joey would have to fly from N.Y. to L.A. every time he needed to film a shot. How did Joey get to work everyday? Why isn't this mentioned in the show?



In the episode TOW the Stoned Guy, a stoner comes to Monica's house to try her out to be the head chef. In TOW the Blind Dates, Rachel's date is the same guy. A chef on drugs. He meets Rachel through Phoebe, but in fact all three girls met him on the same day all those years before. I'm assuming it is the same person because he's a chef who does drugs and he's played by the same actor (Jon Lovitz), but the story doesn't make sense.Just for the record, I investigated this and found that Jon Levitz's character is the same guy in both TOW the Stoned Guy and TOW the Blind Dates. His name was Steve in both cases. Although, many questions still remain: how would Rachel not already know him? She was the waitress when Monica had to cook for him. Also, how did Phoebe know him as a client? She also met him back in TOW the stoned guy.



In Monica and Chandler's and Joey and Rachel's apartments, they all have controlled access pads, so people have to buzz in when they don't have a key to get in. (like mad restaurant owners and crazy soap opera fans) Yet, these pads are used on and off. Sometimes, people (like dates or parents) are able to just walk up to the apartments and knock on the doors.



In TOW Pediatrician Joey says that he has seven sisters. But in an earlier episode Joey says that his mom gave birth to seven children! Where does that leave him? Shouldn't it be 8 children or 6 sisters?



In TOW Ross and Rachel You Know? Rachel tells Ross that she didn't love the movie because there were subtitles and she didn't want to wear glasses on their 1st date. Then in TOW Joey's Big Break, Rachel is scared of eyes and won't put anything in her eyes. There is never one episode that shows Rachel with glasses (other than sunglasses) and she can't wear contacts b/c she can't put stuff in her eyes.


In the one where Chandler doesn't like dogs, Monica is in Ross's apartment, and she claims she can see the dog on the sofa. Yet whenever a shot was taken looking from Monica's apartment to Ross's apartment, in that and other episodes, they're always looking down, making it impossible to be able to see into the middle of Monica's apartment where the sofas are. So how could Monica have seen the dog on the sofa?


In The One With the Inappropriate Sister Danny asks Rachel if she has a brother, and she replies that she has two sisters, but one has a very masculine energy. Well we meet both of Rachel's sisters (Christina Applegate and Reese Witherspoon) and they are both VERY feminine, not at all manly.

I was watching TOW The Morning After Today and there are some definite timing errors. Mainly, Rachel says she is stopping by Ross's apartment at 8.30 (am, I assume, because she is on her way to work), and then when Phoebe calls in work to say that she won't be in, she says its 9.15 (am, we assume again, because what kind of massage parlour is open at 9.15pm?) Now, also assuming that it is the same day, because Monica and Phoebe were in the bedroom waxing, this means that Ross went from his apartment, to the Chandler and Joey's (which involved a long conversation), to the copy place, to the massage parlour, to the coffee house and back to Monica and Rachel's in less than 45 minutes (because they have been in the room a while before Phoebe makes the call).

I've tried picturing the scene going on in the hallway in my head while Ross and Rachel talks until Monica comes in the door and Monica had to be very quick to come in the apartment when she did:P

so monica is jewish, and they arn't alouwed to name their children after a living person or at least a relative. and they call their boy after monica's father and the girl after the birth mother:eek:
Yea that is true and on the commentary for that ep the producers said they knew that and knew people would pick up on it but they didnt care. They also said they know they have done or said things in an ep and then in later eps it doesnt fit with wat was done previously. But they said they new the audience would pick up on it but they said if it fit their storyline better they would do it.

I dunno if someone has mentioned this but in the last one.

when rachel is riflling through her bag to find her boarding pass, we get a clear shot of her passport.

however the picture deplicts a person with black or dark hair. US Passport only last 10 years and no time during the pass ten years where Rachel isn't a blond.

In fact the picture in the passport kinda resembers courtney cox.

Rachel had very dark hair in season 9-like the ep where she went to days of our lives and had the dream about Joey. And in like season 4 she had brown hair. Ive actually never thought of Rachel as being blonde. Phoebe was blonde, Rachel was brunette and Monica had really dark hair in my opinion. I suppose there were times when Rachel was light but id still call her brunette

yeah in season 3 she was very darl, but no where near that dark lol
