Hey guys.
I received my Region 1 DVDs of The Complete 8th Season a few days ago, and the 1st thing I've done is to check if 8.03 "The One Where Rachel Tells" displayed the original pre-9/11 scene involving Monica and Chandler being intercepted at the airport 'coz Chandler joked about bombs. The secne appeared at the end of the episode in the UK's DVDs so I was hopping it will be there too but no !!!.. I was really disapointed !
So, the next thing I did was to watch the episode with the commentary to see what the producers have to say about it and there it is : at the begining of the aired Mon/Chan-at-the-airport storyline, Kevin S. Bright says that this wasn't not the plot orginially intended and that we're gonna see the deleted scene on this DVD for the very first time ! So then I thought : did I miss something at my first viewing ??! The answer is no : there ain't any original scene included !
So, do you think they forgot to include this scene on the DVD and that thus they planned to do so or that Kevin Bright thought it would be included ?!
Or maybe it's me that didn't undersand it ??!!If anyone can help me here ! Thanks ! :)
Also, about 9/11, I noticed that, on these new DVDs, they remove the 9/11 tribute at the end of the episode 8.01 (the 1st episode that aired after the tragedy). You know, it was just after the "Exectuve Producers..." and before the closing credits" and that was saying : "Dedicatd to the people of New York City."
Why would they do that ??
So betwen that and the 8.03 scene not included, what is it ? Is it some kind of removal to pretend that nothing happenned on 9/11 ? Not wanting to make people think about it again, or what ??
