Levar Burton played on Star Trek as the bilnd guy with the visor on the next generation. I know this cuz my brother is a huge fan (not lying just cuz I'm embarrassed). Anyway, I REALLY don't think the surprise guest star is Levar Burton because this show was already filmed, and there's no way it would be edited by Thursday and ready to air. It was probably filmed last month (december). They allow at least 2 weeks for editting. It takes a LONG time to edit. So anyway, the surprise guest star was at the taping on JAN. 7th, which was this past friday. The premiere episode is airing this Thursday, the 13th, there's no way it would've been ready in 1 week. When I went to a taping (Joey and the Big Audition) it was on the 5th of November 2004, and it aired 2 weeks later, the 18th.
However there could be a possiblity he returns, but I doubt it because "friends fans" would be like "what? who's that." we're most likely to go coo coo over a huge movie star guest starring or one of our favorite 5...but I'm guessing it might be a movie star

Well actually ross_rachel4life, maybe you're right about Levar Burton, 'coz after seing last night ep, I later realized that he was supposed to appear in "The Premiere" (it'd been annouced by websites such as spoilerfix...) but in fact he wasn't there !
So maybe his guest appearence has been set for another episode and that he's actually is the so-called "suprise guest-star" !

However, we were told that Levar was guest starring BEFORE we knew about the surprise guest star and BEFORE the taping of the episode featuring this special guest star... So it would mean that he's on another episode.

So if Levar is still guest starring, I think that he will appear on the next episode to be known (1.16) and that the surprise guest star will appear on the epsidoe right after this one (so 1.17). This theory being good if Levar is not the "huge surprise guest star" (and I hope he's not !! ;-) lol

It was mentionned a "surprise guest-star" for the persons who attended the taping of this episode (since it was mentionned on the tvtickets site) but it was never said that this guest star won't be known until the episode airs...

Here is maybe the so-called surprise guest star we were talking about since last month ! NBC has released a official summary for the episode of Joey that'll air the last week of Frebruary Sweeps : Feb 24th.
