Valeant Pharmaceuticals Signs Agreement with Courteney Cox to Represent Kinerase Skin Care Line
COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2005--
Kinerase® Taps "Friend" to Be First Spokesperson
Valeant Pharmaceuticals International (NYSE:VRX) today announced that it has signed an agreement with actress Courteney Cox to represent its Kinerase® line of skin care products in 2005. As its first spokesperson, Cox will represent the brand through personal appearances and in Kinerase® support materials distributed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Cox is best known for her role as "Monica" on the hit TV series "Friends," and was named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People." Along with appearing in several upcoming motion pictures, Cox is running Coquette, a successful production company she formed with her husband, David Arquette. She is also producing television projects for a number of networks and is developing a full slate of feature films.
"Kinerase is a simple and effective skin care regimen that keeps my skin looking healthy and youthful," said Cox. "Like every woman trying to juggle family and career, I no longer have the time or patience for time-consuming beauty routines. Kinerase is gentle but effectively maintains younger-looking skin. I am proud and excited to represent a product that I have personally enjoyed and recommended to my friends and family."
"We are delighted to have Ms. Cox sign on as a partner for Kinerase," said Wes Wheeler, Valeant's President, North America and Global Commercial Development. "She is naturally beautiful, instantly recognized and she loves Kinerase. We are privileged to have her on our team and look forward to working with her."
Kinerase Cream, which was introduced in 2002, is one of the leading dermatologist-recommended moisturizers in the United States, Canada and Europe. The key ingredient in Kinerase is Kinetin, a nature-identical plant growth factor that allows the skin to retain more moisture, making the skin feel firmer and healthier, improving the skin's overall appearance. In a 24-week study of Kinerase Cream, 90 percent of participants reported an improvement in the texture of their skin and 87 percent reported an overall improvement in the appearance of their skin.
Today, the Kinerase family of products includes Kinerase Cream, Kinerase Lotion, Kinerase Gentle Daily Cleanser, Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream, Kinerase with SPF 15 and Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment.
