knwinter means he/she hopes that Joey won't get cancelled 6 eps into series 2. I personally think that Matt will walk before it gets cancelled and i am certain that it won't last to season 4 even if Jen guest stars...
I think for the good of Joey's character, they should stop writing coz the character of Joey Tribbiani is being ruined more and more every week!

The media built it up to be this great comedy and then it turned out to be a mediocre comedy with very weak characters and every joke being about Joey's stupidity. Gets old after a while..

Joey is weak...not very rewatchable. Friends is always rewatchable. But I still look forward to new episodes.

Next season at least Gina gets a job with Bobby! Should have more interesting stuff there to last for another season!

i think joey is great...its not as good as friends, but what show is? with all of the hype for joey it had no chance of living up to anyone's expectations. i look forward to new episodes of joey and i definitely think it is rewatchable. i do think that there is def room for improvement, however.

i have a couple of friends in America who record it and send it to me by e-mail
and i think that the 1st season of joey will be here soon, maybe between 1 to 3 months in the Cable Chanels like Orbit, after they will finish the last season of Friends

I agree. People on here are far too critical. They need to realise its not supposed to be the second coming of Friends, its meant to be the first Joey.

I think as the season went on it got better. No, im not as into Joey as Friends at all.. but it's an okay show and there arnt that many great comedies out there anymore so it needs to stay on to see if it can build up to be good.

GOD FORBID that it gets canceled! i so totally enjoy joey more than friends, mainly coz joey trib was my fave friends character!.. and he's funnyer/goofyer than ever. and the cliffhanger...amg!

PS: i heard he already made the contract for season 2 that has 20 ep's at least.

yip I think some episodes, like the beginning and middle of season 1 of Joey Michaels charater was really funny, then near the end they just did not write a great charater for him, and he was not as funny.

Gina still lank funny and bobby is fantastic.

I think Joey is an ok show it has its moments. I agree its not very rewatchable... i dont think ive ever watched an episode more than once. I would be disapointed if it was cancelled but my life wouldn't be over. Like I said its only ok and its been ok from the begining it has gotten any better or worse. I honestly think that the second season probably wont be much better if it is better at all. I hope for the best though

I watched every episode like three times during the week before a new one came on. It all boils down to personal preference really. I think the show is great and LeBlanc is a brilliant actor.. I hate how people, just because the show's ratings aren't that impressive, have to knock his acting as a factor for the fact no one watches. Simply put, no. His line deliveries are superb and is better than ever. Joey and the Perfect Storm is one epsidoe where I think LeBlanc really puts an exclamation point on his performance with the enthusiasm he points in.. it shows he loves his character. Well, ofcourse he does, why else would he want to play it for like.. ever. I can understand why people don't like it. It's spun-off from Friends, one of the best comedies ever. People expect major from it and the moment it dosent live up to their expectations its 'crap, or garbage'.

Want to see a garbage show? Watch those WB comedies.. those are unwatchable. Joey is milestones better than they are. Joey is definitely not a horrible show by far. There are far far far worse.

It also sounds like NBC recognizes its flaws and is working to improve upon them come second season so it should be great in September. I hope the David Spade rumor is true, he would really add something to the show, like hopefully a Chandler like character.. plus he's extremely funny.

One thing I hope isn't true.. Mel B from the Spice Girls as a regular. BLAH.

I disagree. i watched all 24 episodes at least 5 times. They just blow me away!

My faves are the one where he kisses Liu, the one with Donna, the one with christmas (when he sees the surprise, he's exactly like a huge baby), the one with the V Day date (the part with his passport just cracks me up), and the whole last episode. I actually felt for him when he found the note in Sarah's empty apartment, but I felt a bit good when he and Alex kissed. Go jolex!

i really have to disagree with the JOEY haters

i love it ,and have from day 1

sure there are a few weak epsiodes,but they were in Friends,and not just the end seasons,a few of s1 and s2 were average

remember ,friends took time to be liked for a while

Joey has been unfairly criticised for not being as good as friends
well you cant expect it to be as good straight away,or even at all

Friends was a one off all time great ,up there with the best and longest running comedies ever made,and to try to compare Joey against it this early (or at all) is just nuts

as far as the characters go ,i like all of them as they are,they all have something worth bringing to the show,even Bobbie who i couldnt watch at first (mainly due to her role in friends) grew on me,and she really cracks me up now

even some of the sub characters ,like Howard are fun

only poor one was Eric,but then you're not supposed to like him

its not all about Joeys stupidy either

Gina is there to share the tribbianni role of hot but not all there
she really comes across a a female Joey,with a touch of monica (ie bullying her brother)
we've had glimpes into her trouble at work and lifestyle bringing up Michael

Michael is the clever ross type one,who has trouble with women (just like chandler in early seasons)
you see what he has had to put up with all his life,what with his mom and co -workers ,plus his dark side (vegas)

Alex has Monica and Phoebe type characteristics
ie
her spy diary
similar reactions to confrontation (ie not telling Mary Theresa shes not the maid)
kookiness...doing things not normally associated with her character (feeling up Gina,talking in spanish )
oblivious to very straight forward behaviour (not realising her female date was gay)

i think for a first season,their characters are strong enough,and are there to build on

Joey has mentioned Rachel,Chandler,Ross,Monica and even Emma over the course of season (agreed only Chandler by name)

This ,i imagine is something that will be done more of in S2

As far as im concerned,but for a few average episodes ,i can watch and enjoy Joey as much as a lot of the Friends episodes
they are not up to the classic episode standards yet,but what is/was

I have to agree that Joey is a fun show, I still love the character Joey. It is however wrong to compare the greatness of Friends to Joey. First,Friends was an ensemble show, Joey has a main character with supporting cast. The reason we love Friends so much is that we could fall in love with all the characters. However on Joey the characters are not given much of a story, or the characters are not being developed as much as the character of Joey rather are there to support Joey.
Joey is still fantastic, I certainly hope that it will be around for another full season!
