[ Joey and Phoebe's Apartment. Ben is sleeping on the sofa and Joey is making breakfast. Phoebe gently wakes Ben up ]
Phoebe: Wake up Ben, time for school
Ben: I don't want to go to school today. I don 't feel good
Phoebe: This wouldn't have anything to do with the test you didn't study for, does it?
Joey: You'll feel better after you have something to eat
Ben: When's my dad and Aunt Rachel getting back?
Joey: They'll be here this afternoon
Ben: Do I have to go to school?
Phoebe: Why don't you want to go to school?
Ben: There's a mean bully who said he'd beat me up if I didn't give him my lunch money
Joey: So? Hit him first
Phoebe: JOEY! (To Ben) Fighting is not the answer
Joey: Neither is letting yourself get walked over. (To Ben) Ben, if he hassles you again, I say deck the jerk.
Ben: Thanks Uncle Joey
Joey: Sure
Phoebe (sarcastically): Yeah, thanks Uncle Joey
** Monica and Chandler enter **
Phoebe: What would you guys do if somebody at school threatened to beat you up, if you didn't give them your lunch money?
Monica (putting her arm around Phoebe): Awww Pheebs, are you having problems at school? You want me to go down there and kick their ass?
Phoebe: So what would you do?
Monica: I'd nail 'em
Ben: Thanks!
Phoebe (rolling her eyes): You're a big help!
** Mr. Treeger enters **
Mr. Treeger: Just wanted to let you know there was a water line break, so the building will be without water for a few hours
Chandler: Hey Mr. Treeger, what would you do if somebody threatened to beat you up for your lunch money?
Mr. Treeger: Are you still having problems with that guy at your office?

[ Still at Joey and Phoebe's apartment. Joey, Phoebe, and Ben are eating breakfast ]
Ben: Aunt Phoebe, I really don't feel good.
Phoebe: Then we better go to the doctor and get a shot
Ben: I feel better
Phoebe: I though so.
Joey: Just stand firm and hold your ground
Phoebe: And no fighting
Joey: Unless he throws the first punch
Phoebe: Stop it, Joey
Joey: So you're saying this creep should just be allowed to steal his lunch money?
Phoebe: No, but Ben should go and find an adult.
** The phone rings **
Phoebe: We're not finished here (answering the phone): Hello?
Ross (on the other end of the phone): Hey, Pheebs
Phoebe: Hey Ross!
Ben (tugging at Phoebe's shirt): I wanna talk to him
** Phoebe hands the phone to Ben **
Ben: Hey, dad.
Ross: Hey pal, what's going on?
Ben: There's a bully at school who said he'd beat me up if I didn't give him my lunch money. Uncle Joey thinks I should fight back, but Aunt Phoebe thinks I shouldn't. What do you think?
Ross: I'm going to have to side with Aunt Phoebe on this one. I don't want you fighting. There's always another solution.....no fighting. OK?
Ben (mumbling): Yes, sir
** Ben hands the phone back to Phoebe **
Phoebe (sticking her tongue out at Joey): Thank you, Ross
Joey: Come on Ben, I'll take you to school
[ Joey and Ben are at school, in Joey's car ]
Joey: OK. Give him 3 chances to back off
Ben: And if he doesn't?
Joey (in a low tone): Slug him
Ben: But....
Joey: You just can't reason with some people in this world, Ben. Some people only know to back off if they know you're serious
** The school bell rings **
Joey: You better go before you're late. We'll see you this afternoon
[ Later on in the hallway, during class changes. John the bully and his friends approach Ben ]
John: Hey Gellar
** Ben does not respond **
John: Hey, I'm talking to you, punk.
** Ben turns around **
John: Where's my money?
Ben: Back off.
John: Sense when did you grow a spine?
** John shoves Ben against the locker **
John: I'm only going to say this once more. Put your money in my hand, and I won't have to break your neck
Ben: I'm warning you.
John: No. I'm warning YOU!
** John cocks his fist and attempt to hit Ben, but he ducks and nails John right across the eyes, knocking him down and John's friends watch in shock. Ben then jumps on John with a barrage of punches as John's friends cheer Ben on . A group of kids circle the fight screaming and shouting. Several teachers break up the fight and escort them to the principal's office **

[ Ben and John sent on the bench outside the Principal's Office. John is nursing a bloody lip with an ice pack ]
John: Ben.....are.....are we cool?
* John extends his hand and Ben shakes his hand *
Ben: Sure.
John: I gotta tell you Ben, I didn't think you had it in you
Ben (laughing): Neither did I
John: I'll take the rap for it. I'm the one with the bad reputation around here, not you.
Ben: I'm responsible for my own choices. I chose to fight.
John: Maybe we can hang out, sometime?
Ben: That'll be cool.
** The teacher comes out of the office **
Teacher: Gentleman, Mr. Hargis will see you now.
** Ben and John knock on the door **
Mr. Hargis: Have a seat, boys.
** Ben and John sit down **
Mr. Hargis: I'm not surprised to see you here John, but I am surprised to see you, Ben.
John: It's not all Ben's fault. He warned me to back down, but I didn't
Mr. Hargis: I understand that, but the fact is that both of you were fighting and both of you will have to accept the consequences. John, you're father is on his way here and Ben, Joey and Phoebe are on their way here
John (under his breath): Man, am I gonna get it.
Mr. Hargis: You should have thought of that, before
[ Later on, John's father approaches ]
John's Father (slapping him upside the head): What's the matter with you? When did you become the school extortionist?
Mr, Hargis: Maybe we should talk
John's father: Maybe we should (to John) Sit down and don't move. Don't even lift a finger
Ben: Damn
John: My father's as tough as nails. He'd tell me about all the brawls and fights he was in, while he was in the Navy
Joey (approaching): So that's where you get it
John: Maybe. I never thought about it.
Joey: Did you learn anything from this?
John: I sure did. Ben's got a wicked uppercut!
Ben: You won't tell my dad, will you?
Joey: Let me and Aunt Phoebe talk with him.
Phoebe (approaching): Are you guys ok?
Ben: Yeah. It looks worse than it is
Joey: That's a pretty big shiner you got there, pal
Phoebe: This is exactly why I didn't want you fighting
John: Don't be mad at Ben. It's my fault
Phoebe: But even so, he knows better
* Mr. Hargis emerges from his office *
Mr. Hargis: Come in, please
** Joey and Phoebe go into the office **
John: You got a pretty cool family.
Ben: Thanks. You wanna come over one day? I got a new X-Box
John: Cool. I'll bring some games over

[ A few days later at Ross and Rachel's apartment. Rachel is cooking and Ross is going over notes for a presentation. Ben and John are playing video games ]
Rachel: John, would you like to stay for dinner?
John: Sure, thanks.
Ross: How's the mouth feeling?
John; Better
Ross: No more fighting, right?
John and Ben (together): Right
Ross: OK.
Rachel: OK boys, dinner's ready
