OK, now I've finally seen every single episode of SATC - last night I just finished season 6, I actually saw 8 episodes yesterday even though I have an exam today. This show is just fabulous. I love it so much. I'm gonna have to watch everything again. I have to admit I like it better than Friends right now. I absolutely adore SJP and her style.
The stories were just so awesome and everything, you could identify with the characters, and I love all four women and I'm so happy they all ended up with the man that was right for them.
I'm so gonna miss watching them every night like I did for the last three months.:P:)

Yeah every episode is around 30 minuts + the last one is 45 minutes.
So that was more than 4 hours of SATC last night, but I really wanted to see the whole series yesterday even if I finished them in the middle of the night.

So did you like the 6th season? I thought it was good, was quite clever i thought the way they ended it with Berger - on a post-it! lol but u thought they had got 2gether again and then he chickened out.
The last eps were gr8 i thought but i didnt like Alexander Petrovsky much - glad when Big sorted that out ;)

Yeah I loved season 6, I think even more than other seasons especially finale was just purely awesome.
I loved how Steve and Miranda got back together and that she finally told him that she loved at Brady's birthday and then he said it's always been her. I really love those two.

It was also a very touching season for Charlotte, her storyline about not being able to have her own child and then in finale she and Harry get a letter from China. And she says: yes, that's our baby.
I really liked this couple, they both knew they look funny together, but they loved each other very much. And I hated Trey, his appearance, his attitude, his mother and his penis (I forgot how he named it, I think it was ----- Thomas)

The moment when Big tells the girls about Carrie, he tells them that he loves her and finally Miranda tells him: Go get our girl.
I love when Carrie and Big finally get together in Paris, it was such a romantic moment. They were always my favorite SATC couple, I love how they always had connection, even when he lived in California. I liked Aidan too but I just knew Big was the right man for her. And he's also so sexy and charming.
And Miranda giving a bath to Steve's mother .... and then Magda says: You love.
Smith shaving his head for Samantha and telling her that he loves her and says that no man has ever meant so much to her before.
After Carried comes back to NY with Big and the next morning other three girls are having breakfast and then Carrie joins them and they all scream for happiness.:P
And the very last scene of the show. Carrie is walking in NY streets and her cell rings and it says: John. I loved this scene so much, we finally find out his real name.;)

Anyway, I'm kinda really sad right now that I've seen everything because I want more. But the good thing is I have all episodes on DVD's so I can watch them over and over.:D

Ok, that was a lot of talking but this is how much I enjoyed this show.

I liked Aidan a lot too, but Big was always in the way so it had to be him in the end. The other storylines involving everyone was great too and done very well.
The end scene was great and i love the song that played too. I know how u feel when uv just watched the end - it is sad knowning theres no more, but there will always be reruns and dvds ;)

It is seriously one of the best TV shows ever to grace our screens. Quite literally I say that too. It's just.. Amazing. I can't even sum it up, really. Definately my favourite TV show ever, definately.

I just watched the E! True Hollywood Story on this aswell.. It was a really great one! 2 hours long.. So was full of loads of stuff. Hehehe. Alot of what they said, I knew anyway.. But it was still great to see it all on TV again.

It made me realise how addicted I am to the show and how much I do actually love it. lol It also got me suuuuuper excited for my trip to New York in December.. Eeeeee. It's so closeee! :D:D:D Andd, even better, is the fact we're doing the Sex and the City tour :D:D:D And what would be even better, but I highly doubt it will ever happen, would be to run into SJP when I'm on the Upper West Side. OMG. I waw watching season 5 last night.. After being completely addicted to my season 2 boxset, I have been watching that season over and over for weeks.. But I felt like I change. So I slipped season 5 in.. And omg, I forgot how good it really is. Ahhhh. It made my week. :D

You know, the seasons I watch the least are season 1 and season 3.. I have no idea why.. Hmm, there's a plan formed. When I have finished season 5, I shall go to season 3, I haven't watched that in monthsssss.

Ohhh and another thing. I was mooching around online and I came across these special edition DVD's on amazon. They have like a collection of episodes to do with the title.. I found there was: The Best of Lust, The Best of Break-ups, The Best of Romance and The Best of Big.. <3
I'm going to have a good look for them in NY, some shop will probably sell them! :D They look soo coool...

Hahaha, it reallyyyy does. There's just so many amazing episodes to choose from. I mean, I think this is the only TV series I can actually say that there isn't one bad episode in all of the 6 seasons. So trying to pick 5 out of that is going to be kinda hardd. :P

You know what I love about Carrie? I love that she's the balance of everything around her. She's isn't too outrageous in her talk, like Samantha, she isn't too "classic thinking", like Charlotte and she isn't too independent and career motivated, like Miranda. She's sort of all of them things roled into one.. They show the extremes and she shows the balance. I love that the most about her.. Well, maybe her clothes and shoes beat it.. :P

A lot of people don't like her because she is the main character aswell.. They're only jealous they're not as fabulous as her. :P She's just so real, I think. Compared to the others, excluding Miranda, so basically Charlotte and Samantha :P, they're harder to relate to.. Unless you are almost 100% like them. If you're not, it's hard to find the bits that relate to you and life in general. Whereas with Carrie being the balanced all-rounder.. She seems more realistic, in an odd way.. I know what I meeean.

I know, I'm old school. :P But it's becauseeee, when I first started collecting them, few years ago, I got the first season on video of my nana, so from then, I got them all on video, so they all matched and looked prettyy :P Then they started bringing them all out on DVD, then the shoebox.. I freakin' LOVE sex and the city. I've got the DVD shoebox thingy, it was only £50 in the Virgin Megastores sale! WOO! It's one of the very few shows that gets better as it goes along...the last few episodes are really, really well done. The last episode suceeded where Friends (sort of) failed.

And I agree with you.. It does get better as it goes along.. Not that it started of badly, because it freakin' amazing when it started.. I just think it did perfect character development throughout the whole of the series.. They never let it slip, at all. And the writers, they're my heros! I mean seriously, to go 6 years and still have enough stories to keep on writing and more importantly interesting enough to do so, that's an achievement right there!

And although I do see where Nika is coming from, as they are to completely different shows, they do primarily have the same audience and a lot of thinsg in common. They're both comedies, both set in New York (except one uses the city a hell of a lot more), both have equally strong leading characters, both go though the journeys of life, both have character discovery along the way.. There are many things that are very similar.

And when you look at the shows without the context they are put into, because of the charaters and relationships and just look purely at the skilfulness.. It's not hard to see which one wins. For me anyway. If you take away the actors, the scene, the backdrop, everything like that and just look at the writing talent, souly, Sex and the City, definately has alot more talent over all. There was never a poorly written episode or for that matter a season.. Whereas with Friends, I can think of many occassions where the episodes have just been absolutely *******ls.. To the point where I just can't bare to watch them. lol

But yeah, how did we get to this?! lol

I know what you mean about it being up in the clouds at times. You know, it's not possible to have that much money from volunteering at an art gallery, or to own that many pairs of Manolo Blahniks.. But I think that adds to the originality and zest of the show.

And you found some epusodes revolting?! Which ones? I have never found them revolting, ever. I mena sure, they pushed the boundries on what was said about sex on TV and how it was displayed, but that's real to me. There's no point tip-toeing around it.. Everyone has sex. It's life.. I thought that was one of the best things about the show. They weren't affraid to get that extra mile and stand out, they didn't always play it safe.

And I definately agree with you Elmy. They were, probably, the most funniest writers on TV ath the time and maybe in times to come, aswell.. And they were extremely clever. How they kept certain storylines oging and how they kept the characters constantly fresh and there.. It was amazing. I often felt that at times Friends did slip a little, infact, the last 4 season, were definately on a slide down, compared to the earlier one.. IMO

i cant remember which eps (well, probs not whole eps, but parts of them) i found revolting- but i do remember watching it and wondering wot the hell was the point of it... its not just about that people have sex, and do different things- they just pushed it sometimes into areas that dont need to be explained (and that i personally didnt find very amusing).. DAMN i cant remember which eps those were :P but i WILL get the shoebox eventually, and ill get back to u on that :P


and i dont get wot u mean by the characters and the story line being constantly fresh.. some scenes seem almost identical to me, some jokes are just re-told... i thought Jen's saturday night live mock thingy of satc was a pretty good representation actually.. she types on a comp, they go to a bar, someone has sex, she types on comp again... this repetition of things is something i didnt like v much. and friends has got repetition as well, most certainly, but i dont think its that much..

i dunno, i still prefer friends over satc, but i wouldnt stop watching either one of them.

Maybe it's hard to see the repetition in Friends, because there is 6 main characters, so when things do get repeated, it's mixed with everyone elses repetition, so it's less noticable. I bet if you properly sat there, and was super sad, and analysed the both, you'd find they were both equally as repetitive.. Because that's what TV is all about.

I finally finish the essay.. At like 2 this morning. lol It was bull****, as I am sure he'll find out, but atleast I did it..

So now I return to do a little summary for youuuu.. I have to much free time on my hands right now, so I'm going to set it out all pretty and talk through each character seperately.. Because I'm sad. lol But yeah, I hope you follow it all, I don't know which seasons you have and haven't seen, so yeahhh.. :P

Carrie:
Okayy, at the beginning of the series she's with a guy called Burger. That's his second name, real name is Jack. :P He's a writer who she met through her publication house.. And they really hit it off. Was a really cute relationship, but meh, he couldn't deal with her fame (from her book and column) and they ended up breaking up..
So then she was single again and she met this guy called Alexandra Portrovsky. He was an older Russian guy, artist and living in New York doing some artisty things :P They were together for a very long time and he asked her to move back to Paris with him and she went. All the girls were really surprised about her moving, because I mean, Carrie Loves New York, so they couldn't believe she was actually going to go. But she did and when she got there, she relaised it wasn't what she thought it would be like.. He was always working and she spent most of the time wondering around a city that she didn't know and couldn't speak the language.
Thennnn, Mr Big comes back into the picture and is back in new York.. He meets up with the girls at their little coffee shop and asks them whether they think Carrie is truely happy in Paris; If she was, he would go home, but if they thought she wasn't happy, he was on the first plane out there. That's when Miranda says my favourite line: "Go get our girl" So Big flies out to Paris, trying to find out in which posh hotel she is staying in, in the mean time, Carrie and Alexandra are having a huge row and he slaps her.. She's walking out of the hotel and Big walks in. It's all fairy-tale like and they go for a walk and she ends up going back to New York, with Big.
So that's how it ends for her: Back in New York with Big :D We also find out, from Carrie mobile phone screen, that his real name is John.. Weird, I know. :P

Miranda:
Well, whent he show first started she was all business-womany and was never really one to get too involved with relationships, but especially in the last seasons, you saw all that change.
She'd obviously had baby Brady with Steve and they were no longer together, but good friends. She got together with a reallyy hot guy, who moved into her apartment block and who was also the doctor for the Nicks. They were together for a good few months in it and they did start to gt really serious.. They were a nice couple. I liked them alot and he was just HOT. :P lol
Then, on Brady's first birthday party, her and Steve shared a kiss in the little laundry room and she realised, it was him Steve she really loved and wanted to be with. So she broke it off and ended up getting back together with Steve. He moved into her apartment and they got married. They had a cute little ceremony, no fuss at all.. Very Miranda. :P
Sooo, Steve thought ti was time they got a bigger place, a proper house with a garden and all that jazz. So they set out looking and the only suitable places they could find were in Brooklyn and Miranda reallyyyyy didn't want to move there. She loved being in the city, where all the other girls were asn wasn't ready to leave it behind.. But in the end she diecded it was for the best and moved into this absolutely gorgeous house in Brooklyn, with Steve and Brady.
So it all ended nice and family-like for Miranda :D

Charlotte:
Aww, bless her, she's a little sweety. lol Well, after gettign divorced to her first husband, Trey, she met her divorce lawyer - Harry. He's the kind of guy you would of never put with Charlotte, but they just really worked together. Anywayy, they got to dating and thinsg started to get very serious between them. He was Jewish and she was some form of Christinanity, and his family were dead set on him marrying another Jew. So they split up..
Only for them to get back together, by him proposing to her, at a Jewish singles night.. She had at this point changed her religion and being going to all the classes and everything that you needed to do, to be a Jew. She, obviously, accepted the proposal and they got married in this beautiful little ceremony and the other girls were bridesmaids.
Then they movied in together and decided they wanted to start a family. Charlotte found out that she had trouble concieving and it was very unlikely she would ever be pregnant. On the off chance though, they kept trying. She did get pregnant, but then has a miscarriage. She was absolutely dustraught, because it had taken them so long to get pregnant in the first place.. After that, they decided to go for adoption.
After having a few let downs and parents changing their minds about putting their children up for adoption, it wasn't looking to good and she got really down about the fact she might never be a mother. But then along came a picture in the post, saying that they have been accepted and are going to recieve their very on Chinese daughter.. And I gotta say, she looked the cutest little thing on that photo :P
So it all ended up nice and happy for Charlotte too :D

Samantha:
Well, we all know Sam really isn't one for relationships and everything, but she did come across this reallyyyy hot waiter in a restauarant. They slept together, obviously and they repeated that a fair few times :P. It turns out he was an actor, trying to make it in the the city and Samantha sort of guilded him along the way, using her PR ferm. He did make it big and got some pretty hot modeling contacts along the way and they sort of became an item.. As much as Samantha didn't like to admit it; They did. She only slept with him, no other man, which is a very big achievement for her! lol And they were really well suited, even if he was a good few years younger.. :P
But then she found out she had Breast Cancer and it wasn't really made a big deal of.. She told the other girls and they were all very supportive of her and she went through all the treatment and she came out fine.. But she did go bald, due to the chemo. So Samantha, being Samantha, decided to have a bit of fun with it and completely shaved all her hair off, along with her boyfriend, who has the most gorgeous long blonde hair everrr. And she wore a lot of different styled wigs and wierd things like that.. She was fabulous doing it though. :P
And that's pretty much how it ended for her.. She was still the same old Sam, just now in a "kind-of" relationship and having been through cancer..

The the last scene, of them together, was Carrie walking into the coffee shop, them all seeing her there and screaming, which was reallyyy cute. Then they all walked out of the coffee shop together and were walking down the road.. With the best song playing in the background! You Got The Love - Candi Staton

And that's pretty much 20 episodes worth of acting summed up! lol Wow, I wrote alot.. Sorry. I didn't realise how much I had actually typed when I was just going ahead with it.. Sorryyyyy. It should help you though, pretty much tells you everything in there... Well, maybe missing out a couple of pointless dates they all went on. :P

I mean c'mon, putting Joey and Rachel together proves that one. :P So I think with SATC, there's many more chances and options, characterwise.. And I still think they haven't completely done all the possible stories and finished them off for definate, like I do with Friends..

I think if it's done right, it'll be a huge success.

I looove Kristin Davis. As Charlotte, but also in real life - she's the sweetest person ever. I was a bit disappointed that Cynthia Nixon only said like three sentences in that whole interview though :P

Sex and the City To Hit Big Screen

LOS ANGELES - Sarah Jessica Parker and her Sex and the City co-stars are set to resurrect their martini-sipping, bed-hopping characters for the big screen.
A script for a Sex and the City feature film is being penned and filming could begin later this year in New York.
A Sex and the City movie has been rumoured since the TV series ended in 2004 after six award-winning seasons, but there was resistance from the show's four leads, Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.
Mario Cantone, who played the campy, short-tempered best friend of Davis' character, confirmed a script was being written by Sex and the City screenwriter, director and executive producer, Michael Patrick King.
"There's nothing definitive yet," Cantone told AAP.
"I know the script is being written and I know it will be brilliant because Michael Patrick King is writing it.
"I know that I'm in it. I have a nice part in it, I'm told.
"If it happens, we should film it in the early fall I think, but I hope it stays on course because I would love to do it."
The success of last year's female friendly The Devil Wears Prada, which earned US$320 ($473) million at the international box office, renewed interest in the Sex and the City movie.
"I think there's an audience for it," Cantone, a Tony Award nominated Broadway star and regular on the US TV talkshow, The View, said.
"There are girls who come up to me in the street in tears and say: 'When's the Sex and the City movie happening?'.
"If you look at The Devil Wears Prada, it was such a big success, this would do even better.
"Sex and the City has the audience and I think it's a good time to do it now because enough time has passed since the TV series ended."

Do get your hopes up.. They've been in "talks" about a film since the show ended.. Rumours have bene flying around about it for ageesss.. I'm just going to wait until it's announced officially. Until then, it's another rumour to me..

Andddd, I kind of don't want there ot be a movie. I think it may ruin it.. I remember talking with Nikki about it awhile ago.. If they don't have all the exact same writers and those kind of people on it, I don't think it'll have the same standard as the TV show. They'll be known as the show that went just that little too farr.. Everything ended quite nicely aswell and I like it that way. I wouldn't be against it or anything, but I just don't think they could ever be as good as they were on TV.

And SJP's busy being a mummyyyy.. Which is waaay more important than any movie she could ever doo. I would much rather see her on the streets on NY with her son, than on a big screen. Well, depending on what kind of movie. :P lol

I watched a clip on youtube ealrier, of my favourite ever episode, and it made me realise how long it's been since I properly sat down and watched it.. and how much I loove it!

I think the biggest change out of them all is Miranda, for sure. In the beginning she was very closed up and a real business woman, but over the 6 years you saw her open up and really changee. Aww, I do love her. :D

Paramount are playing season 1 again.. I have been trying watch it this past week, have caught it twice.. Definately not one of my favourite seasons. The talking to the camera irritates me a litttle, but besides that, you're only really just starting to get to know the characters, so it's a little odd. It's funny to watch though and look back at it.. How much they've changed and the whole show in general, has changed in 6 seasons. :D
