no offence to mondler fans, but i kinda think he was a bit more funny before they got together. but i'm just wondering about what you guys think.
btw, i'm a mondler fan myself so i'm not saying that i didn't want them to get together or something

NO! NO! NO! I respectfully disagree!!!! Mondler was the BEST thing that EVER happened in Friends and 4 me Chandler was always as funny as EVER!!!!

yeah old chandler was definitely more funnier, but chandler and monica had some funny couple moments. but good things came out of chandler becoming less funny when he got with monica. he got more wise and sensitive and cutesy and actually wasnt afraid of commitment anymore and wanted so much to be a daddy. i thought that was nice and it reflects real life because people are always more funnier and less committed when theyre younger.

Aww , dont say that coz it makes mondler a lesser nice couple. :( lol :P

I don't think he was more funny at one time or the other. He was funny when he was single, and he was funny after he married Monica. It's just that when he got together with Monica, he changed from his bachelor lifestyle to a married lifestyle, so his jokes became about different things. So I think Chandler was always funny, just over time he became more appealing to the older audience who could relate to his married lifestyle, where as younger people relate more to the immature, single Chandler.
If that makes any sense at all..

Yeah, I kinda agree to what Jen said, HE WAS ALWAYS FUNNY. :D :D
P.s: None of that made sense! (Just an answer to ur question. :D )

yes i was always funny , but a little bit more before!!
no that made sense for me !!! I agree with harry, he was always funny, but not about the same things, and I think that's a good thing, because if he had been afraid of comitment all his life, the jokes would have been around that all the time, and you can't make 10 years of a show around the same theme all the time.
ok maybe what I said doesn't make any sense either ........

I think he balanced his comedy very well throughout those 10 years.

He was always funny, just a bit funnier before
ithink he was really good all the time.
but before marriage he used to hang out with Joey alot so that probably made him more funnier.
iread about a similar thing in a magzine that chandler was more funnier before matthew got all fat and went into rehab and stuff...ido NOT agree with that.
and i also agree with cherry_me_fan that Mondler was the best thing that ever happened...it didnt change chandler...well not totally.

It's not a matter of whether he was less funny after he married Monica. It's about maturing. So really you should be saying; Was Chandler funnier before or after he gained maturity?

Chandler is always going to be our funny old Chan Chan Man. No matter who hes with. Does it really effect his personality, if hes with Monica or not.
Hes equally funny as he was before Monica the only difference is hes less lonely.

I think as time progressed, Chandler became a different kind of funny. Previous to his marriage to Monica, he often made jokes about having no love life and other pointless (yet, halerious) comments. But it's almost as if Monica changed him, in a good way. He bacame a bit more mature, yet his jokes were just as halerious as before. He never lacked the ability to make us pee our pants... literally. :P

Monica and Chandler made the show better, but I agree that Chandler was funnier before they got married. But with that, the show became more drama like ans that always keeps your attention, sometimes better than humor. So, still funny after the marriage, but funnier before.

I think his comedy was well balanced. I also believe that it was good to see Mondler get together because even though he wasn't QUITE as funny as he was in previous seasons, we needed to see Chandler mature and fall in true love and then we got to see his more emotional and caring side which I think was definetly good for his charactor because if they had gone the whole ten years and he stayed the way that he was then he would be funny, but not really a person as much becuase we wouldn't have seen his more "emotional" side so I think that his comedy was actually VERY well balanced because he also stayed VERY funny after him and Monica got together.. sometimes even being more funny than he was in previous seasons.;) :D

I didnt notice any difference in Chandler's "Funniness" before or after he married Monica... I thought he was as funny throughout the entire show

yeah i think he was but in a immature way when he got with monica chandler grew up alot i think and i think the writers made them funny as a couple but he is still funny but less as in the earlier seasons.

okay, this is practically repeating what everybody else was saying, but Chandler was funnier both before and after. It's just hard to change from having his jokes at the beginning revolve around his incapability to have a commitment and then he finally has one. Chandler's image was 'the bachelor' so the jokes worked better. And I'm also guessin the writers were getting worn out towards the end of the series(no off.) But although he's not as funny, but still really funny, the relationship and stuff kinda substitutes for it. It's not as funny, but it's cute.

Chandler has always been the funniest character on the show, but I like it better when he's with Monica, he's happier, and I like that.

before they got married - he said he only used his humor to get girls and once the show got more popular then they didn't need as much comedy from him
