David Schwimmer Quotes
Can I tell you how strange it is to look in your rearview mirror and see guys in cars tailing you?
I can't go anywhere without being recognized. I'm.
I didn't ask to be followed by five video guys from 'Hard Copy' that harass you with bright lights in your face and ask you questions and try to incite you. I didn't ask for that. I never went into acting for that, or to be in the public eye simply by walking down the street, not being able to eat a meal without being interrupted.
I don't tolerate any kind of dishonesty. I bring a lot to the table with my relationships, so I really expect the same.
I find America falling in love with a TV show flattering and interesting, but at the same time a little sad.
I had a mustache when I was 13.
I have a lot of girlfriends whom I've never been involved with. Those kinds of lines get drawn pretty early on.
I like to grow as an actor, and you can do that by playing parts that are unfamiliar to you and uncomfortable.
I spend half my time just living my life, and the other half analyzing it.
I was a geek in high school.
I'm fiercely loyal to my friends, and I really cherish my friendships.
If there's something I want, I go for it. I just think about how I'm going to go for it.
It's a job - someone's gotta kiss Jennifer Aniston. The reality is, Jennifer and I can do our job well because we truly are friends. But when the day's over, she goes home to her boyfriend and I go home to a magazine.
It's really important to me not to be known as Ross when I'm 60.
My favorite thing about my family is that my sister and I will go over to our parents' house on the weekend and play canasta.
Oh my God, people really think I'm Ross!
The reality is, Jennifer and I can do our job well because we truly are friends. But when the day's over, she goes home to her boyfriend and I go home to a magazine.
There are certain pressures and things that change your life to a degree that, in the cost benefit analysis that constantly goes on, sometimes makes you think, 'Maybe I should just leave.'
There are certain sacrifices that you make, and you feel like the only compensation you have as an actor is financial.
There's nothing like a play. It's so immediate and every performance is different. As an actor, you have the most control over what the audience is seeing.
With the success of the last three or so years, when a lot of people start treating you differently, there's a danger that you may start to think of yourself differently. You rely on your friends to say, 'Hey, wake up!'
You're only as good as the sum of your parts, and one person can't be a team.

Ross - I don't know why my voice is coming out all load and squeaky because because really [in deep voice] i'm fine!!
There's this gag with Schwimmer and Kudrow, he messes up the line, and then they both start laughing (Lisa with her insanely contagious laugh!), and David looks up and says, "Poooooor Ross!" and Lisa's like "Have you ever seen the show?" and he shakes his head. Very funny because he kinda says what everyone's thinking: Ross always gets a bad deal...
But anyway there was this quote where I think he said
"I find America falling in love with a TV show flattering and interesting, but at the same time a little sad."
I agree with that a lot. I love the show but sometimes I feel like we watch it to fill voids in our own lives.
~peace~
i definitely watch it to fill voids. it cheers me up when i feel frustrated or hopeless, which has been happening a lot lately. but yes, i guess it depends on the extent to which you "fall in love" with the show.
I think when he said he was a geek in high school is cute becasue it reminds us of his character it is really cute i love him

Do you guys think the "sacrifice" included love?I mean is it possible that David and Jen liked each other , but for the show, they just sacrificed the love ? So David is still single because he cannot be with the only woman he love in the world? I hope it's just my supposition. As if it's ture, my heart will aches so much~for my dearest David, also for the ture love

^maybe nobody knows if they ever did like each other or if anything actually happened with them, but if two people wanted each other so much i think they wud chose the love, but then maybe they respected the show more, but then why arnt they 2geva now cos its over they dont have to sacrifice anything anymore.

yeah i agree with you:) .. it would be so cool if it was true, but then now jen and david would be together..

Well what I've said before was, I think that anything ever happened between them, chances are in happened early in the show, which means about seasons 1 or 2. During this time, the R&R story became thick, and you know that as long as the show keeps going, they have to break R&R apart for the story. It is possible that David and Jennifer knew this. Now imagine they went out during season 3, and had to film TOW the Morning After, while they were actually going out. The emotion involved in that type of thing is incredibly hard and painful.
Imagine if they got together, became very close, and then broke up in real life. How could they have done R&R falling in love when they had just fallen out of love with each other? That's why having TV co-stars going out is such a dangerous thing. A TV show lasts for a long time, many times longer than a relationship, even a marriage.
So in theory, if they stopped seeing each other that way around '94, '95, then that would've been 9 years of seeing each other and working very closely together everyday, seeing one another as friends and nothing more. That perspective is probably set in stone. If you asked David why he wouldn't go out with Jen, he would probably be thinking "Jen? That's like going out with my sister!" (Okay, maybe not that, but similar) It has to do with the way they see each other.

yeah but no1 knows what cud have happend but in tow the morning after the emotion and stuff there imo was more than acting
^^I'm not sure what you mean. I was just saying that, if you imagine that they're going out during TOW the Morning After, how do you think they would feel having to shoot this incredibly emotional break-up, if they were actually going out in real life. I know the actors cried, it was probably turmoil having to do that. If David and Jen were seeing each other then, it would've been 100 times harder.
Something I brought up before was how in "Cruel Intentions", Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon had to film a break-up scene, and on the DVD commentary the director was saying how they were really sad and angry at everyone because of how hard it was. It's like they're thinking, "This is how it would be if we really broke up..."
That's why actors who are really together tend to not work together after they get together.
Here is something I just found about it:
http://www.181st.net/celebrity-galleries/Reese-Witherspoon/index.html
Personal quote (on the break-up scene she had to do with Ryan Phillippe in Cruel Intentions): "I literally beat him up when we had to do the breakup scene. We'd gotten so tired and we'd done the scene so many times. He was off camera giving me my lines and he started to ad lib - which is a bad thing when you're doing this kind of scene, and talking like, 'I never loved you! You're not attractive!' Terrible things. I got upset. I just hauled off and socked him in the face. And everybody in the crew was like 'Gasp! Can you believe she did that?' And I'm screaming my lines and I just yelled 'Get out!' And then he ran off and threw up in a stairwell. And I'm, like, sobbing, saying, 'I can't believe he said those things to me!' And the director came in and said 'Oh God, I can't believe it, that was so great! Can you do it again?'"
