Aniston turns to inspiring Indian hero
TROUBLED Jennifer Aniston (left) has turned to the teachings of Indian spiritual leader Gandhi to help her get over the split from ex-husband Brad Pitt.
A confidante of the Friends beauty gave her a book containing some of the teachings of the revered religious and political leader soon after she split from the 41-year-old Troy hunk Brad at the beginning of this year.
And it appears that the deceased holy man's words have inspired her to change her lifestyle.
"Because of the book she is re-evaluating her life," a source close to the 36-year-old star tells us.
"Brad and Jen were always interested in Buddhism, but she's undergone a major life-change so she's got the chance to experiment."
Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), was the father of the Indian independence movement. He believed that truth, non-violence, self-sufficiency, fearlessness, and equality were essential ingredients for a fulfilled life.

But Jen has probably spent longer pondering his views on marriage and fidelity, about which he wrote: "Marriage must be considered to be a sacrament imposing discipline upon the partners, restricting them to physical union only among themselves."
Friends of the star say she is devastated by the way Brad is flaunting his relationship with Lara Croft star Angelina Jolie, 30.
Jennifer has been seen alone on a beach in Malibu, wearing a T-shirt bearing Gandhi's words: "Defeat cannot dishearten me. It can only chasten me. I know that God will guide me. Truth is superior to man's wisdom."
She also owns a pair of trousers with one of the leader's most famous sayings: "I have nothing new to teach the world, truth and non-violence are as old as the hills," printed on them.
Last month, Jennifer admitted to Vanity Fair magazine she was in therapy, and said: "Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Do I have days when I've thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely."
Even her close friendship with co-star Vince Vaughn on the set of their new film The Break Up has not taken her mind off her failed marriage.
"She's on a diet, devised by Carrie Latt Wiatt, who has helped stars such as Julia Roberts, and redesigned her house to the rules of Feng Shui, filling it with new furniture and plants," adds our insider.
