I know the scan kinda sucks. I orginally got it from a friend and tried to improve it & this was the best I could do.

Yeah but I don't think he meant it in a mean way. It was probably more sarcastic than anything.

I'm part Native American too (no really, I am; I'm more Irish though) & I didn't find it the least bit offensive. He had to be in sarcasm mode with that remark.

How could you not? I mean, there's so many good things about him.

Who here has never made a comment they wish they hadn't? I think he meant it as a sarcastic joke and I would be willing to bet he didn't intentinally mean to hurt anyone. I remember hearing ethnic joke while in school and nobody thought anything of it. Now people can't seem to take a joke.

I read that this week and cringed a bit. He was said it jokingly with his usual funny, sarcasm. If people don't really know him, it comes across to some as offensive. Most of us know what type of person he is just from his interviews, work, etc. and know it was meant as a joke.

What are you saying, my mom doesn't know him from a hole in the ground and she even said that it was a joke. LOL

Yeah I wasn't offended by it either, it's not like I've never made a joke I wish I hadn't ..

It depends a great deal on how you say these things and on the context and everything ... and in his case it couldn't have been anything else than a sarcastic joke. He makes jokes about himself as well.

It had to be. I couldn't think of him as the type who would say something offensive on purpose.

I'm sure Matty didn't mean anything of what he said and he certainly didn't mean to offend people.

I'm sure he didn't want to offense anyone, I think it was a (sad) joke, that's all. Thank God I'm not a Native American, I didn't take offense at what he said, I still think he's a cute guy who agrees to host every year an event to help Native and Not Native American kids.
