no, they didn't sleep together, and not even in season 10. if you remember it was like the 3rd episode (TOW ross's tan), they kept trying, but it was too weird for them, so they gave up, and kind of ended their relationship then.

Rachel is meant to be with Ross.. And I don't understand how Joey made a big deal about being in love with Rachel and in a couple episodes everybody, including him, had completely forgoten about J and R.
I think the show is awesome and in 10 years that was THE ONE huge mistake the writers made: it made Joey betray Ross because Ross always loved Rachel since 9th grade, and never stopped loving her and Joey knew it, and it made Rachel look like a slut, even more so than she already looked like without the whole Joey crap.

i thought the whole storyline was alright...i mean, it made the show exciting. like when they kissed in barbados everybody was absolutely stunned, what a cliffhanger! but then when we got to see them in a relationship, i dont know, i mean it wasnt cheesy but it was odd to see joey all lovey dovey..and it didnt seem like rachel's feelings were as strong as joeys. and yeah, rachel and ross, classic couple..but ross just seemed....whipped. lol. i know mike is going to yell at me! but dont get me wrong, im all for ross and rachel...i just liked the twist between joey and rachel. it was just a little setback in the ross and rachel relationship..and they eventually did end up together...just goes to prove how strong their feelings are for eachother. but joey..known as a player...and rachel...known to be sort of a slut in high school and stuff...it was interesting stuff.

What I really meant was that Joey wanted Rachel since the 8th season. Have you ever had the feeling when u've WANTED sompthin and never gotten it? I have had that and that's why I can understand Joey turning into a serious lover boy.That was the case with Joey. And that's what I meant with his body language, his PASSION for Rachel. I never saw that kind of passion from Ross in the first season for Rachel but yes I agree that in The Finale his chemistry was alot better.

While I was still watching early episodes of the 4th season (there was obvious attraction between r&r but not they were not together), I wanted to know what was going to happen to them, so I watched latest episode that I had at that time, season 9 final DVD. I have to admit that it made me kind of sick when I saw rachel & joey thing. I remembered shouting at the screen, "hey c'mon she's your buddy's girl"

I hated all Rachel&Joey idea. I mean of course it gave the writers so many possibilities but it just wasn't right. But still I think they handled the situation well. It was very dangereous story especially if your show's main love interest was the other couple.

I think ross&rachel is the hottest, sweetest couple of the TV history. Anyway important thing is Ross&rachel are together now and always will be yay!!

I liked them together, but I also like Ross and Rachel. I can't make up my mind:)
And they did not sleep together at all. They tried, but it was just too weird for them.. I think it was fine the way they ended it like that. I didn't quite get that they ended it when I watched the episode, but I do now.

It's not that I disliked RnR, but I LOVED JnR together. They just made sense, you know? It always makes me cry when Joey kisses her at the end of TOI Barbados. I think if Friends hadn't ended at season ten this story would have developed more.

Loathed Joey and Rachel as a couple. I have a hard time even calling them that, because it was like cousins kissing. It just didn't feel right at all. And every cast member felt the same way. Matty L.B. said that it was so wrong, Rachel is just Ross's girl. David thought it was dangerous territory, Jennifer said it wasn't right, it was like kissing her brother. I love Joey and I love Rachel, especially as friends, but NOT as a couple. IMO they shouldnt have gone down that road. I mean, Joey's crush was cute in season 8 and I do think that the writers handled it very tastefully back then, but that thing in season 9 and 10 was just plain wrong. Rachel cracks up because Ross says "Homo Erectus"? She is 32 and has a daughter for crying out loud. Gimme a break. Rachel is not the smartest person in the world, but she's not that childish and dumb, either. I just never got the feeling that JnR's thing had any emotional depth to it like Ross and Rachel had. Ross and Rachel were based on a long, strong friendship that eventually turned into love. Joey and Rachel - as a COUPLE - were simply based on physical attraction.

Thankfully everything turned out the way it was supposed to be from the Pilot on.

their friendship is so genuine and real and they should be just friends... ;)

I thought they looked really good together and Joey was really kind and caring. I don't think they slept together because later in season 10 they break up because they can't 'do it'.

I agree with everyone here who said that Rachel was always Ross' girl. I especially agree with the person who made the list of how almost every relationship Ross had with another woman broke up because of his love for Rachel. She was always the only woman in Ross' heart, and all the friends new it. It made Joey look bad, he betrayed Ross. I mean seriously, I would never be as kind as Ross if one of my best friends went for the love of my life, and the only person in my heart.

Before the season finale Ross never said that rach was the love of his life. yeah, sure we all knew it, but I'm actually not sure if he was. or if either of them were actually.
I feel that they did the same thing to each other in the season 9 finale. Ross was with the girl Joey just brooke up with and Joey with Ross longtime girlfriend.
Sure we think it's bad, because it's RNR! but if I should think about it like four people I didn't knew - I wouldn't think that Joey did anything wrong that Ross didn't.

I really loved them together. It made Joey grow up a little. Although I'll admit:
a)They would have never ended up together - with all the RnR history.
b)After TOW Ross' tan it was as if nothing had happened, kinda bummed me out. But that was the writers fault.

When they were in Barbados they decided to wait until after they had told Ross because they both kept picturing him when they kissed then the night after they got back was when they went Ross's for dinner and Joey ended up staying there. TOW Ross's Tan was their first date and then thier attempts to have sex that weren't successful so they ended it because they were better off as friends.

I actually quite agree with you there, though I think they would have made sense without changing her character (my oppinion) after all they got on really well in TOW Joey dates Rachel, and she was pretty much the same old Rachel there.
